Dallas Home Buying Process Guide

Step 1: Get the help of a Buyers Agent Realtor
Step 2: Get pre-qualified for a mortgage. Your Realtor will usually have a few recommendations for you. Check out our recommendations here!
Step 3: Find the right home for you. Begin your search here. Did you know Zillow takes up to 72 hours to update their listings? In this market, thats just far too long. Our website updates every 15 minutes!
Step 4: Make an offer on a home. Your Realtor will write up the contracts and proper addendums. You will then e-sign the documents using DocuSign. Once Signed, the documents will then be presented to the Sellers Agent & Seller.
Step 5: Inform Your Lender. Inform your lender that you are now under contract on a home! He will send you the initial loan disclosures and possibly ask for additional financial information or documents
Step 6: Get a home inspection. Your Realtor will schedule this on your behalf. Once the inspection is performed you will get a detailed .pdf file of the home inspection to review with your Realtor. Your Realtor will then negotiate the repairs and/or money in lieu of repairs.
Step 7: Get home appraisal. Your Lender will order this on your behalf. The process of getting an appraisal in Texas generally takes 14-17 days from time of contract.
STEP 8: Select Your Home Insurance. Your Lender and Realtor will both have recommendations on who you should select for home insurance. Remember, buying a home is usually the biggest purchase people will make. This is one area where you do not want to find the cheapest!
STEP 9: Close on your home and recieve the keys. Closing Day is such a special day for everyone involved. We would be honored to be apart of your journey to home ownership. Make sure you have scheduled your move!
